Carrington, LSW, SSP

Carrington has always been passionate about supporting children, teens, and their caregivers. She earned her Master of Social Work from Aurora University after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a minor in Counseling, from Northern Illinois University. Throughout her training and early career, Carrington has worked in a variety of roles serving youth and families, including Crisis Intervention Specialist, School Social Work Intern at a high school, student mentor, and school social worker.
Carrington’s passion for mental health grew from her early work with young people navigating complex emotional, behavioral, and family challenges. She has extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma exposure, school avoidance, grief and loss, peer conflict, life transitions, and crisis situations. Her work is grounded in building strong, supportive relationships with both clients and their caregivers, helping families feel less alone and more empowered as they navigate challenges together.
Carrington believes that children heal best when they feel safe, understood, and supported. In sessions, she prioritizes creating a sense of emotional safety where children can express themselves naturally through creative and developmentally appropriate approaches. Throughout the therapeutic process, clients often learn skills related to emotional regulation, problem-solving, coping, and self-awareness. As children and teens explore experiences that mirror real-life challenges, they are able to process emotions, build resilience, and gain confidence over time.
Through Carrington’s person-centered and trauma-informed approach with children, teens, and families, she emphasizes empathic understanding, consistency, and unconditional support. She views the therapeutic relationship as the foundation of meaningful change and works collaboratively with clients to strengthen insight, emotional awareness, and coping strategies. When working with children, Carrington actively partners with caregivers to foster healthy relationships, improve communication, and build supportive systems that extend beyond the therapy room.
Carrington is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in Colorado and holds a Special Services Provider License (SSP). Her professional background includes crisis intervention, school-based mental health, MTSS and SEL support, and multidisciplinary collaboration. She is committed to culturally responsive, strengths-based care and feels honored to support children, teens, and families from all backgrounds on their healing journey.
